Monday 30th January

Muthabir ran well at Doncaster on Saturday.  Narrowly beaten for third and staying on well after the last.  He will now be stepped up in trip and hopefully this will bring about some improvement in order to get his head in front again soon.  He has proved a real fun horse for The Adlestrop Experience and I am sure there is more to come from him.

Timetobenefit was outpaced in the competitive mares bumper and will now go hurdling.  Having won a point to point in Ireland, I am sure once allowed to use her stamina she will be competitive for us.

The ground is too soft for Viva Rafa at Southwell tomorrow and he will be entered for Kempton next week, where hopefully we will get some better ground.

We have made some entries for the weekend and hopefully we will keep our good run going over the next few weeks.

A very sad day on Saturday with Many Clouds passing away after his incredible run to beat Thistlecrack.  Luckily these tragic incidents are very rare and he will be remembered as a great Grand National winner and a great steeplechaser.

As I said on my blog last week, he was a big price at 40-1 for the Gold Cup and I am sure he would have run a cracker had fate played its part.  His connections were lucky to have him and he was lucky to have them.  Oliver Sherwood’s excellent handling of the situation was a credit to his profession and sport.
