Our summer jumping string continue to build up their exercise, as we look forward to having some runners in August.  The string have really showed the benefit for having a holiday in May and we look forward to getting back to some sort of normality.

The rest of the jumping string will be coming back in very shortly, to begin their fitness programmes and thanks to lockdown,  we look forward to getting many on the track a bit earlier this autumn as long as the ground is safe.

A fantastic weekend of flat racing, with Aiden O’Brien once again dominating the Irish Derby.  It will be fascinating to see what is entered for this weekend’s Epsom equivalent.   With the Eclipse being run on Sunday, never has there been such a constant stream of top class action in the sport.

Delighted that owners are beginning to be allowed to go racing again.  They are the rock of the sport and although you can understand why the authorities have been cautious up to now about who to allow onto racecourses, let us hope that over hte coming weeks those that pay for the sport are allowed to attend.

Also this week, jump racing will resume and well done to all who have contributed to the sport getting back up and running so well.

Racing TV’s Luck on Sunday is always fascinating viewing.  The excellent Nick Luck had Eve Johnson-Houghton as his studio guest this week.   Eve was her ever enthusiastic, down to earth self and it contributed to a great programme.

It was great to see Limato win this weekend for my old mentor, H Candy and both he and the eight-year-old prove that you can’t beat class and experience.

Much has been written about mental health recently and well done to Matt Chapman for his excellent article in The Sun this weekend.  He raises some excellent points and you can read it HERE
