Flying Dragon ran with great credit at Doncaster on Saturday evening.  With no pace on, Megan Nicholls decided to make the running which he appeared to enjoy until being collared in the final furlong to finish fourth, beaten four lengths by the winner.

Megan thought in hindsight that if she had known him better, she might have let him stride on a bit earlier in the straight as he appears to just gallop.  He looks as though he will get further in time and Megan pointed out what a nice jumper he will make later on in the year.

Keep It Brief did not enjoy the firmer surface at Windsor yesterday.  Typically the ground had plenty of give in it on Saturday and today but circumstances meant that the ground conditions did not suit.  However, Tom Queally looked after him and thought more cut in the ground and a step up in trip would suit.

I am sure this will bring about an improvement and also hopefully some relenting from the handicapper.  Hopefully we can get his head in front on the flat before he resumes his hurdling career in the autumn.
