Plenty of rain this morning on the gallops, which has certainly made the countryside a lot greener.  A morning of steady cantering, walking and trotting as the horses ease back following a work morning on Saturday.

It was great to welcome Steven Smith, owner of Mighty Elsa to the gallops at the weekend.  I trained her mother and her grandmother and she is a strapping daughter of Schiaparelli.  She has been rather immature but hopefully she will develop into a decent staying chaser.

Enable was imperious as ever in the King George.  Not the strongest renewal, however once again she proved she is the Queen of the turf and it maybe a long time before we see the like of her again.

The Arc should be a great race should she take on Love, who will certainly be a hard nut to crack with the age allowance.

It’s strange not to be attending Glorious Goodwood this year but will instead be setting off or Doncaster for the Goffs UK sales in search of more talent.

The Sussex Stakes on Wednesday, will as ever be the highlight.  The Guineas winners Kameko and Siskin take on the Ballydoyle trio with Mohaather also having a great chance.  As ever, flat racing at it’s best in a most beautiful setting.
