Monday 27th January, 2020

A bright Monday morning in Adlestrop and we have made entries for the weekend on the flat and over jumps.

I had an enjoyable day at Cheltenham on Saturday as a guest of Roger and Carol Skan.  They owned our great race mare, La Landiere who of course gave us a Festival winner in the Cathcart as well as the Racing Post Chase.  It’s always good to catch up with them.

A great day of racing with lots of Cheltenham Festival clues and also great to breed a winner in Back On The Lash in the last.  His dam Giovanna won us many races and her son has certainly inherited her toughness.

Following a work morning it was great to take yard sponsor Martin Harvey, to view the horses being sold at the Tattersalls evening sales.  Delighted to have purchased Lesser (pictured), the impressive winner of his only point-to-point and we look forward to syndicating this exciting prospect over the coming weeks.

Yesterday, I had a very enjoyable but wet day at the Heythrop point-to-point at Cocklebarrow. The event chairman always bends my arm to help with the trophy presentation on the day and it’s always good to catch up with so many friends in attendance.

On the way home I joined Alastair Down’s quiz team at the Kings Head at Bledington and delighted to report an impressive victory.  A particuarly impressive performance by A Down and it was so good to see him getting so many questions correct as on some nights he fails to remember where he lives.
