It was great to be joined on the gallops on Saturday by Amanda Langdale and Hazel West. Amanda co-bred Master Vintage and Iron Horse with our great American friends Eustace and Carol Theodore and Karen Anderson.  They have had great fun with their two sons of Kayf Tara and we look forward to that continuing this season.

The string continue to come along well and it’s now a case of finding the right races for them which is not as easy as it sounds – but pencilling in lots of opportunities in November.  As ever, the ground is not as soft as you’d like on most courses at present but hopefully the rains will continue to ease the going.

Great to see such entertaining racing at Cheltenham and once again a female jockey grabs the headlines with Bryony Frost giving Frodon another peach around Prestbury Park.   The duo are a joy to watch and on that performance, he certainly has a chance of being place on the course’s blue riband.

I spent much of the weekend ploughing through the horses in training sales catalogue at Newmarket this week.  With over 1500 horses entered, it was certainly intensive homework.  Annoyingly out bid on our chosen lot today but hopefully will be luckier later in the week as we aim to build up the quality of the string this season.
