On Friday, Methodtothemagic appeared to have a breathing issue that needs sorting out whilst Shadow Walker unfortunately bled.  We were hoping to get a comfortable lead from the front with Corrany which appeared to be the plan of several others as well, so he did not appear to enjoy the experience.  However hopefully we can sort out each of their issues soon.

It was great to welcome some members of the Richard Phillips Racing Syndicate to the yard on Saturday morning.  They are a great group of people of which some members I’ve known for many a decade.  With the syndicate sadly losing our very promising five-year-old Pether’s Moon gelding, we look forward to finding a replacement for him soon.

It was great to see their other horse Fine Theatre in such good form on the gallops on Saturday and I am sure there will be a lot of fun to be had for the syndicate in the future.

With the jumps season coming to an end on Saturday, it has been a frustrating one to say the least for Adlestrop Stables.   However onwards and upwards as we still have many promising horses for the new season.

Congratulations to Bess the Pup on winning our Five to Follow competition.  This is not the first time a dog has been successful in the event, with Colin Pocock’s Jenson winning the competition twice – once when he was alive and secondly after he had sadly passed away.

Charlie Allan’s sprocker Bess, just beat Dave Mahon into second whilst Maggie Turner our physio was third.  Thank you to all who took part in the competition and the prize money will be on the way.
