Organdi has been declared in the novices handicap chase run at 2.10pm tomorrow at Bangor.  She ran an excellent race at Uttoxeter last time out and it will be interesting to see how she gets on stepping up in trip.  She appears in good form at home.

It was great that a few of the Beautiful People syndicate were able to see Organdi go through her paces on Saturday morning on the gallops.  We had a retirement party for Beautiful People who has won three races during her career.  She is due to spend her retirement with Tasha Meredith who works for us and absolutely adores her and we look forward to following her progress in the future.

Thank you to all who supported our Adlestrop Club Charity Cricket match yesterday.  As ever it was a splendid afternoon on the beautiful local ground raising money for the cricket club and Racing Welfare.  The match was in memory in Luke Watson and it was great to have so many of his family and friends in attendance.

There was some fantastic cricket on show, including a quite brilliant catch by owner Chris Newport in the slips.  Whilst Marcus Armytage showed what an all-round great sportsman he is with a gritty 49.  Unfortunately we failed narrowly to win the match thanks to my nephew Joe dropping a ‘dolly’ at a crucial point of the contest.  Joe then proceeded to take a brilliant catch off his cousin Sebastian, while he was fielding for the opposition for two overs as one their players had a nose bleed.

Fortunately for Joe he was not too bothered as on Saturday night he won £10,000 on ITV’s game show The Void.  As he pointed out on the programme, being the youngest of nine siblings makes you both determined and competitive.

With his money going in the bank this week, maybe this will be the first year I get a birthday present from him, however catching the ‘dolly’ would have done.

Not long now until the first ever National Racehorse Week.  Today Marcus Townend of the Daily Mail has published an interview he did with me recently about the initiative.   I never thought I’d see the day I was in an article with Taylor Swift in the Daily Mail!  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/racing/article-9917055/Taylor-Swift-dropping-event-gave-Richard-Phillips-idea-National-Racehorse-Week.html
