Tulane runs in the 6.55pm at Wolverhampton this evening and hopefully he has a favourite’s chance. He ran well on the course last time and drops back in trip tonight. Hopefully now he has learned to settle better in his races he can be ridden more prominently.
He has run some excellent races in defeat and let’s hope he can get his head in front for his patient syndicate very soon.
Mighty Elsa is declared in the 2pm at Exeter tomorrow and hopefully the course will pass an early inspection for frost. The ground will be on the heavy side which will not be ideal but it will be good to get some more experience into Elsa. She is a big mare and has the size and scope of a chaser.
Timetobenefit would not have benefitted from most of the hurdles being removed at Taunton on Saturday. However it was good to get a run into her having had such a long lay off. The ground and trip would not have been ideal but there were no other opportuntiess for her and we look forward to her running in a race where conditions suit better in February.
Defi Du Seuil was mightily impressive at Ascot on Saturday and he is developing into a legend. He continues to be a favourite of mine and I am hoping he can do the same at the Festival.
Pentland Hills got pipped on the line at Haydock but did well in the circumstances and I am sure a strongly run race on better ground would suit him a lot better.
