Beautiful People jumped well on the whole but was outpaced on her chasing debut at Warwick on Friday.  However hopefully the experience will have done her good and we look forward to running her over a more suitable trip when conditions allow.  Hopefully she will have a successful chasing campaign this summer.

Present From Dubai is declared at Leicester tomorrow in the novices handicap chase run at 2.45pm.  Making his chasing debut, he has schooled well at home and we hope he can transfer his hurdling ability to the bigger obstacles.

We have more entries for the weekend and look forward to having a few more runners now the ground is drying out.

It would have been Barnsy’s birthday yesterday and it was good to walk up to visit his resting place at St Nicholas Church in Oddington.  On a beautiful, crisp, sunny day his grave looked very colourful thanks to all the flowers left by the many who loved him.

Following the totally unacceptable picture that appeared on social media over the weekend of trainer Gordon Elliott, I think Mick Fitzgerald spoke for many of us who have devoted our entire lives to the welfare of racehorses, in his interview on At The Races This Morning.
