Monday 1st August, 2022

Tulane has been declared in the 8.50pm at Kempton tomorrow evening – a two mile handicap.  He is a course and distance winner and Kieran Shoemark takes the ride having been third on him at Chepstow last time out.  Hopefully he will once again give The Adlestrop Club some excitement with a positive run.

Organdi appeared to need her outing at Bangor on Friday.  Tom Bellamy reported that she travelled well into the race three out before taking a breath, and hopefully she will come on for this race.  There are a couple of options for her in August and I am sure this outing will have done her the world of good.

Corrany stayed on once being outpaced in the final mile.  He found the track a bit too sharp for him and we may now think about running him over fences.

Yesterday I went to see owner Charlie Allan’s team take on Adlestrop at their beautiful cricket ground.  It was great to sit on the picnic bench at the club in memory of Mick Barnes.

Looking forward to our annual charity cricket match on Sunday 28th August at the ground, where we will be raising money for Racing Welfare and the cricket club.  Once again the match will be in memory of Luke Watson.

This year there will be a special award for ‘player of the match’ for the ‘Mick Barnes memorial trophy.’  Please let us know if you would like to come along and if you would like book for a delicious lunch in our marquee for the afternoon.
