Keep It Brief did not like the drying ground at Newbury on Friday and we will now go back to the all-weather with him.  He is qualified for the final of the ‘London Middle Distance’ series on the 1st November and this could be an interesting target for him.  We will certainly look for some softer ground when he runs on the turf again and we look forward to him returning to hurdles in the autumn.

We have entered Organdi at Uttoxeter on Sunday in the novices handicap chase, which is a nice course for novices to jump round.  The ground looks as though it will be to her liking and it will be good to try her again over fences.

Delighted that our wonderful mare Giovanna (pictured) had a piece written about her in the Racing Post on Saturday.  Having purchased her as a foal, she was syndicated to the Dozen Dreamers who she won seven races for and so nearly got black type in the mares bumper at Aintree.

Tough as teak and bags of fun, owners Sue Welch and Brian Duckett joined in with me to breed from Giovanna after her racing career was over.  Sue did all the hard work and Giovanna has produced three very useful winners to date from her offspring.  Delighted that her first foal, Gianna – is in foal to Passing Glance this year.  Hopefully she will continue the happy story.  You can read the article HERE.
