Monday 19th April, 2021

Once again a very sunny morning in Adlestrop which unfortunately leads to the ground being on the firm side on racecourses throughout Britain.  Tulane (pictured) has been entered at Wolverhampton on Saturday on the all-weather.  He has had a bit of a break and hopefully will return to form as a consequence.

Like many in the nation, I was overwhelmed by The Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral at Windsor on Saturday.  It displayed everything that Britain should be proud of and I am sure his life will continue to inspire many throughout the world.

Tragic news this morning of the death of amateur rider Lorna Brooke following a fall at Taunton on 8th April.  I only met her for the first time last month and it confirmed what others have said of her – she was the loveliest person with a passion and a talent with horses.

Our thoughts go out to all her family and friends.
