With Taunton off tomorrow, Timetobenefit will now be re-routed to Hereford on Sunday although at present this course is also waterlogged.  Thankfully all have managed in Adlestrop despite the heavy rain.

Thanks to the all-weather, J Gaye runs in the 7pm at Kempton on Wedneday in the mile and a half fillies handicap.  She was beaten a nose over course and distance recently and she is declared with cheekpieces which will hopefully bring about enough improvement to finally get her head in front – although the race as ever is a competitive one.   Luke Morris once again rides and she certainly deserves a victory for all connections.

We have a few more entries this week but the ground is not suitable for many and once again we will have to be patient.

The ground was certainly an issue at Ascot on Saturday when Cyrname was thankfully only winded when falling at the last.  It is always a very difficult situation for the sport when one of racing’s stars has the screen around him for the public and all television viewers to see.

Fortunately these occasions are rare but when they do happen, somehow the sport must explain that the horse is immediately treated by very experienced professionals whose only concern is doing the correct thing for horse.

The crowd’s reaction to Cyrname walking back past the stands exemplified their passion but also their concern for all horses.  Hopefully Cyrname will come back to his brilliant best next season.

Looking forward to our ‘open morning on the gallops’ on Saturday where we will have our recent horse purchases on the gallops for potential syndicate members to view.

The impressive point to point winner, Rossbeigh Strand has really pleased us since his arrival along with fellow point to point winner, Robin des Smoke who looks a mare certain to win races in the seasons ahead.

We will also launch our new charity syndicate ‘Race Against Prostate Cancer, with the horse Roundhead who has strengthened up significantly for a break and will hopefully provide some fun, success, funds and awareness of this great charity.

If you would be interested in coming along, please be in touch with the office.
