Racing can be such a cruel game.  Yesterday we sadly lost Celestial Magic after his fall at the second last at Market Rasen.  ‘Monty’ was the first home-bred of owner June Watts.  He was a very popular horse being a great character who gave us some memorable days.

Our thoughts are with June and all who loved him and the only consolation is that yesterday he looked magnificent, having won the best turned out award and he raced with his usual zest.

Tomorrow Present From Dubai is declared in the 3.45pm at Wetherby with Danny Hiskett onboard claiming three pounds.  The combination won well at Uttoxeter in December but unfortunately pulled too hard in his next race at Newbury and he will wear a hood tomorrow.  Conditions should suit and let us hope he gets back to his Uttoxeter form.

For many, last week’s Cheltenham Festival was a spectacular celebration of our great sport, with many wonderful training and riding performances.  However the horses are the stars and we certainly saw many on show as the Festival always brings together the best of the best.

Delighted to report yet again my charity bet with Corals from our Cheltenham Preview went it.  Congratulations to all connections of Simply The Betts.  It means more funds have been raised for Prostate Cancer UK.

Thank you to all who took part in the first running of our Cheltenham Preview tipping competition.  Congratulations to Rosemarie Davies on her great victory with John Ingram in second and Harry St John in third.  Your winnings will be on the way to you shortly!
