Great to welcome Sam and Linda from NAF this morning who supply us with some great supplements for our horses.  It was great to discuss their various excellent products with them.

A steady cantering morning for much of the string combined with some grazing afterwards.  It’s a lovely day to be a racehorse.

On Friday evening we had our staff BBQ kindly sponsored by the ROA.  This is a great initiative to celebrate ‘Racing Staff Week’ and a good time was had by all despite my barbecuing.

It was excellent racing on ‘Super Saturday’ however it was a job to keep up with it all with wonderful races coming from Newmarket, Ascot and York.  So sad to see Beat The Bank have a fatal injury having been so brave in success at the Berkshire track.  However, everyone in racing is consoled by the fact that these animals have terrific lives and are surrounded by professionals throughout their lives.

It was great to have lunch with owner Lizzie Prowting yesterday.  As ever we had a great time and a great laugh and we so appreciate her being such a great supporter of the yard.

On the way home it was great to listen to two fantastic sporting occasions.  Never before have two such nail biting sporting events taken place simultaneously.  However thanks to some channel swapping it was exciting to see both the cricket world cup and the men’s Wimbledon final end in such remarkable ways.  Congratulations to not only the winners but Federer and New Zealand for creating such epic events.
