Master Vintage made a gurgle turning for home yesterday and therefore we will have to investigate his wind following his Market Rasen run.  He would not be the first by his sire to have such a problem and hopefully we can get him back to his Leicester winning form soon.  Despite this disappointment it was great Eustace and Carol Theodore were able to come with me to Market Rasen having travelled over from America for Cheltenham.

Having jointly bred the horse, they have been on some journey – but whatever the result they enjoy the process.  They also joined me at a Cheltenham Preview last night at The Fleece at Bretforton organised by head handicapper Phil Smith.  On the panel were the chuckle brothers, better known as Sam and Willie Twiston-Davies and Racing Post journalist, Lee Mottershead.  A good fun night as ever as the excitement builds for the Festival.

It was good to welcome owners Martin Newman and the Fairford Goes Racing Partnership this morning on what is a wonderful spring day in our special Cotswold village.

Great news that Call Me Emma, one of our former inmates who was placed on every race she ran in – has had a lovely filly foal by Kayf Tara.  We look forward to her journey to the Cheltenham Festival.

Tomorrow I fancy Elgin to run well in the Supreme Novices at a big price.  Whilst Buveur D’Air and A Genie In A Bottle are also fancies. Happy punting.
