A wonderful victory for Keep It Brief on Wednesday night at Kempton.  Delighted for owner Ed Ware, who has been such a great supporter of the yard.

Given a fine ride by James Doyle, the opposition went very fast early on and Keep It Brief stayed on well in the straight to win by a bit too far.  Hopefully we will have more success on the flat with him and he will should become a decent dual-purpose horse as he loves his jumping.

Flying Dragon didn’t appreciate the sticky ground at Newbury last night and the race probably came a bit too soon after his previous run.  Rab Havlin said that he would get even further in time and hopefully the handicapper will reassess him and we can bring him back for another race in August.

May the best team win on Sunday night in the Euros final.  Both teams have excellent managers who have created a real team ethos.  Gareth Southgate is setting a fantastic example in leadership for all and this thoroughly decent, talented man has turned around previous sporting disappointments in order to develop into an exemplary leader.

It would be fantastic for English football and the country if the team were to win on Sunday.   Also it would be a victory for a management style that should be hugely encouraged.
