You heard it here!

The clouds burst in Adlestrop this morning.  Thankfully it’s now stopped and staff and horses have now dried out.

We don’t need rain for Muthabir at Uttoxeter next week but Tulane will be entered for next Friday and Saturday and he would love softer conditions.

Great to meet up at Ted and Gaynor Voutes last night for our annual dinner with Martin Mitchell.

Ted first introduced me to ‘Mitch’ over thirty years ago when he was based at Adstock Manor Stud.  Ted went on to be one of the world’s greatest yearling consigners, whilst Mitch ran Tattersalls in Newmarket for nigh on half a century until his recent retirement.  We go back a long way and it was great to catch up.

Pricewise goes through the Cesarewitch today.  For what it’s worth, I always think it worth backing jumps trainers in such races as they have a remarkable record in such staying handicaps.  Perhaps Who Dares Wins at 20-1 could give Alan King another success in the race.
