Methodtothemagic showed promise in her bumper yesterday at Huntingdon, finishing seventh in what was a competitive event.  From a staying family, she travelled well until getting outpaced at the back of the home straight before staying on in the final two furlongs.

She would ideally want a more galloping track and some softer ground and we will endeavour to find some in the next month or so.  However having been placed in two point-to-points, we will probably see the best of her once she can utilise her stamina.

A beautiful day at the course and it was great that all her owners were able to be there to see her make her debut for us.

Shiskin was a very impressive winner at the track and looks to have a great chance at the Festival.  Pricewise in the Racing Post has been doing his best to find some value for the four days of Cheltenham.

For the record my Cheltenham fancies are still Lostintranslation in the Gold Cup and Pentland Hills in the Champion and hoping that Defi Du Seuil, Paisley Park, Benie Des Dieux and Appreciate It are Festival bankers.  There’s a long way to go until then when it comes to training racehorses.

Great but not unexpected news that Kempton will not be becoming a housing estate in the future.  As a winter track, it is second to none for producing decent ground and would be sorely missed had the developers had their way.
