Friday 3rd February

Sheelbewhatsheelbe is declared in the first at Taunton on Sunday.  This will be her hurdling debut and Danny Hiskett rides.  She has jumped well at home but the ground will be pretty testing.  Hopefully the experience will do her good as she showed promise in bumpers and I am sure on better ground in the spring, we will see the best of her.

Made some entries for next week at Huntingdon in the hope the rains stop.

Pricewise today goes for the Triumph Hurdle.  There are two particularly impressive juveniles this year – Defi Du Seuil and Charli Parcs, both owned by JP McManus and I think he has the answer to the race.

The horse that would interest me if he ran is Housesofparliament.  He is a horse I followed on the flat that was trained by Aiden O’Brien, his son Joseph now trains him.  He came second on his only hurdle run in December, not long after having been gelded.  He wears a tongue strap and the better the ground, the better he would run.  Having been placed in a St Leger, he is a class act and should he take his chance at 20-1, he looks great each way value.
