Mrs Barnes has been declared at Sandown tomorrow in the mares handicap hurdle run at 12.40pm.  It is a competitive event but she has some comparative form with the opposition and it will give her some more experience.

She is a fine big mare and we have the option of going chasing at some point.  Danny Hiskett has some bruising to his leg so Sam Twiston-Davies will take over and hopefully she will continue to show promise.

With the novice chase being competitive at Huntingdon and the ground on the soft side, we have not declared Organdi and she has a couple of options next week where hopefully conditions will be more suitable for her.

Looking forward to a great weekend of racing and ITV racing was as entertaining as ever this afternoon.  Wonderful to see the joy of Pylon’s groom Julia when winning at Sandown this afternoon.  Anyone in any doubt how much horses mean to staff, need look no further than her reaction and interview on ITV.

It was also great to hear the wonderful recent welfare initiative from vets Ian Wright and Simon Knapp.  The equine fracture support kit will be available on every racecourse in Britain.  World renowned vet Ian Wright was instrumental in the design and will give injuries the support needed before further evaluation and is another example of how racing continues to put welfare of the horse at the forefront of it’s thinking.
