Lots of rain in Adlestrop so it was a good opportunity to school some of next week’s runners yesterday morning, including Roundhead, Beautiful People, Organdi (pictured) and Master Vintage.  Lady Of Authority also schooled and will hopefully be making her hurdling debut very soon.

We’ve made some flat entries for next Thursday on the turf and the all-weather.  Looking forward to stepping J Gaye up in trip at Salisbury and hope the ground is not too soft.  Whilst Tulane and Golden Deal are entered in the mile and a half handicap at Wolverhampton.

It was great to welcome Peter and Anne Hepworth to the stables who kindly made a birthday cake for both myself and Jo’s birthday.  Anne would certainly win the Great British Bake Off if she entered.

Talking of which, Prue Leith was on my plane going to Jersey last week.  She is at present in a wheelchair and unfortunately the vehicle used to put her on the plane broke down on the runway, causing a delay.  I couldn’t wait to tell Prue once we reached our destination that we had just witnessed the ‘late British take off.’
