As we continue to carry on as normally as possible here at Adlestrop Stables, we are often reminded of previously retired racehorses that have been trained here. One such lucky fellow is What A Score.
What A Score showed great promise at home but only had one outing for us in a bumper. As he had such talent, we spent many a season trying to get him back on the course but finally decided re-homing was the best option for him.
He has now been renamed Finbarr and is enjoying life in mid-Wales with three fellow greys. His 63 year old owner does some dressage, jumping and hacking in the forest with him. Hopefully when things get back to normal, the plan is to do some low level endurance with him later inthe year.
It is wonderful to know he is now a much loved family horse spending the rest of his days giving great pleasure to all that know him.
He was rehomed with the help of Sophie Spiteri who has re-homed a few of our former racehorses. Sophie does a great job of re-training thoroughbreds to give them a new life once their racing days are over. This task is so important in our quest to keep the favour of the general public.
