Everyone at Adlestrop Stables are delighted that the team are the recipients of this year’s Lycetts Team Champions Award. Yesterday, after much devious plotting by the boss, Charlotte Alexander of Lycetts and Shelley Perham of the NTF surprised the team by arriving at Adlestrop and delivering a congratulatory balloon and some fine champagne.
Thanks to the dedication and imagination of our wonderful staff, the judges made a unanimous decision based on our video entry that Team Adlestrop were the winners.
The Award was set up three years ago by Rupert Arnold of the NTF, in order to champion best practice of leadership and employment of staff within the training ranks. Having previously been runners up, it was fantastic for everyone involved to win this year’s award.
Special thanks to my assistant Hannah Gregory and my award-winning P.A. Jo Saunders, for as ever putting so much work into our final entry.
Many thanks to Lycetts for sponsoring the event and to the NTF in supporting us in this way.
The £4000 prizemoney will go towards a horse simulator for the staff. Much fun is being had deciding where the rest of the money will be spent to benefit all, to ensure we continue to be industry leaders. We are looking forward to the presentation which takes place at Sandown races on the 15th September – aptly during National Racehorse Week.
Today is a very special day at Adlestrop Stables as it is 20 years since Jo Saunders joined Phillips Racing. As everyone knows, it has been the greatest stroke of luck in my career.
All my staff, all my owners and associated with the yard over this time have witnessed her incredible dedication, intelligence, skill and empathy. I was so pleased that this year it was recognised by her winning the Godolphin Stud and Stable ‘Dedication’ Award. Looking forward to the next twenty.
