Another beautiful morning on the gallops and it was great to welcome Hannah Lewis-Jones and her friends to see Beautiful People and Organdi on the gallops. Both mares are progressing well and looking forward to getting them on the track in August to continue their winning ways.
It’s great to see the string building up their fitness and the staff working as hard as ever to make sure the preparatory work is done to a very high standard.
Tomorrow’s King George disappointingly only has four runners with no three-year-olds partaking. This can partly put down to the fact the season started so late but normally it’s fascinating to see how the three-year-olds compare at this stage of the season.
Unless you train at Ballydoyle, you’ll be hoping Enable can win yet another King George – but the Ballydoyle trio will be hard nuts to crack and Japan appears to be coming good.
Our jockey Danny Hiskett took a day off on Wednesday to attend Liam Treadwell’s funeral at Arundel Cathedral. It is a place I know well and having viewed the service online, Liam had a remarkable send-off from this world. So sad his life ended so soon.
