We have entered one of our breeze up two-year-olds, Tulane, at Chepstow next Thursday.  We have a small but select string of flat horses and he will be our first juvenile runner.  We are pleased with him at home and he will start off over six furlongs but I am sure he will get further.

It was great to welcome owner Lizzie Prowting to Adlestrop yesterday.  It’s always great to catch up with her and enjoy a fantastic steak at the Wild Rabbit at lunchtime.

Tomorrow’s July Cup looks a real cracker of a sprint, with the three-year-olds Caravaggio and Harry Angel taking on the old boys in Limato and The Tin Man.  The six pound allowance could be crucial but whatever the result, the winner will be the equine equivalent of Usain Bolt.
