Disappointing that Huntingdon has just been called off due to rising flood water. Timetobenefit was due to run in the 3.45pm – the ground many not have suited her and the trip was likely to have been too short but it would have been good to get her out on the track after a lay off. Hopefully we can find an alternative race for her soon.
Also disappointing that yesterday’s Leicester meeting was abandoned due to heavy rain, as it would have been interesting to see how Present From Dubai would have got on. However we have options for him at Newbury and Haydock next week.
It was great to welcome Mike and Julie Barrett, Charlotte Bird and their friend Ann to the gallops this morning. As members of The Adlestrop Club, they came to give well deserved carrots to Muthabir and Master Vintage. Julie and Ann are equine artists and hopefully they will have been inspired to pick up the brush following a beautiful morning.
Pricewise has made his recommendations for the Champion Hurdle and the Gold Cup in the Racing Post. I can see where he is coming from with his selections of Sharjah, Not So Sleepy and Native River and they look good value, however I will stick to Pentland Hills at tens and Lostintranslation at eights as I believe they could both look value on the day.
