Ending the season on a high?

The rains have come which not necessarily will help our chances at Towcester today with Totterdown and Bertie Barnes.  However both have run on soft ground in the past and let’s hope they handle Towcester.

Lots of cantering for the string this morning with some faster work planned for tomorrow.

There is a break in National Hunt racing next week and it resumes next Saturday.  Let’s hope we can get off to a good start.  The horses have run well throughout the season but like for many, the very wet weather has caused difficulties but we have some nice horses to go to war with and a few orders to fill.

Prominent owner Michael Barnes was in this morning to see his Dandy Man two-year-old filly at exercise, before studying the Racing Post in anticipation of Bertie Barnes’s run this evening.

Punchestown continues to entertain, with Faugheen putting up a fantastic performance in Stayers Hurdle and enjoyed the fact he didn’t have to go faster over shorter.

Today’s Champion Hurdle looks a fascinating affair with Samcro favourite to beat Melon.  Racing loves a superstar and we will know a lot more about Samcro after this.
