A bright Monday morning

If it doesn’t rain it pours.   The ground is getting worse rather than better at lots of tracks, but we have made entries for Friday and the weekend.

However a bright Monday morning and it was good to welcome Martin Mitchell to Adlestrop.  Martin has been a friend for many decades and for many years ran Tattersalls in Newmarket.

In his retirement he is now chairman of the trustees of the British Racing School.  Mitch is one of the most popular people in racing and has eclectic friends and interests and it was great to catch up.

Martin came to stay as he and I are both attending Mary Hambro’s funeral today.  Mary fought a long illness with great endeavour and was a leading sales consignor for many years and very kindly gave us a base at Cotswold Stud while we developed Adlestrop.
