A very snowy Adlestrop
A very snowy Adlestrop but thanks to lots of effort from the staff, we have managed to get all the horses out and exercised. Not surprisingly, Uttoxeter was abandoned for tomorrow but hopefully the weather will improve soon and we can have runners at the end of the week.
Thank you to all who attended the Adlestrop Club quiz on Friday night. Once again it was a great success and congratulations to the local winners and their secret weapon.
A big thank you to Charlie Allan for being such an excellent quiz master and it was good to raise money for Marie Cure.
It was great to welcome many of the quizzers to the gallops on Saturday morning having stayed over. Also it was excellent to see the Somedays Here Partnership of Amanda Langdale and Eustace and Carole Theodore all the way from America.
Very sad to hear the passing of one of my favourite people, Peter Walwyn. He has been part of my life since I was a small boy having followed his horses when he was champion trainer and having the delight of getting to know him over the years having trained in Lambourn. His enthusiasm, humour and eccentricity were styled with a steely set of excellent principles and he will be long remembered as a racing great.
Our sympathies go out to his family, especially his sister Jinnie Holt who lives here in Adlestrop.
