A morning of cantering and weighing

A morning of cantering and weighing for the string following yesterday’s work morning.  The sunshine makes all the difference.  Hopefully we have runners from Sunday onwards.

I thought the horse to take out of yesterday’s Oaks trial was Forever Together who did not have the clearest of runs and looks a better value each way prospect than her winning stable companion being 20-1.

Great to see W Haggas have a live outsider for the Derby in Young Rascal.  I remember the trainer being one himself and the horse looks an improver, unlike his handler.

Disappointing to read about the brawl at Goodwood at the weekend.  For many years, racing has been a safe place to enjoy sport and drink.  I understand fully that racecourses need to get racegoers in but I have witnessed recently, quite a few incidents of drunken behaviour including chant singing on my visits to racecourses.  Perhaps courses should make the rules more clear.
