A great win for Totterdown

Delighted for all concerned following Totterdown’s victory yesterday in the maiden hurdle at Hereford.  Home-bred by Fairford Goes Racing, he had shown promise in bumpers.

He is a free-running type who settled much better yesterday and didn’t appreciate going left-handed at Warwick last time.

He jumped very well under a fine ride from Danny Hiskett and will make a grand chaser in time and will have learned a lot from yesterday’s victory.

Viva Rafa ran a very promising chase debut in the novice handicap chase.  But for a mistake two out, he would have been a fair bit closer and hopefully he can make up for lost time having had a few niggles along the way.

He certainly has the size and scope of a chaser and we look forward to following up on this promising run shortly.

We decided against running Muthabir at Taunton tomorrow in the race he won last year.  The ground is heavy and as he has proved in the past, he loves a sound surface so he will now hopefully go to Ludlow on the 24th.
