A busy morning of faster work
A busy morning of faster work for much of the string, including a few juveniles. The morning showers were welcome as we don’t want the ground to firm up too quickly. However, there were too many for Muthabir at Ludlow yesterday with the ground turning soft. Conditions were sloppy therefore he travelled and jumped well, finishing a very pleasing fourth. He ran his usual creditable race and hopefully the handicapper will review him.
As for Punchestown, what an extraordinary day yesterday. The three mile novice chase would have to be seen to be believed. However whatever the circumstances, it’s always sad when the best horse doesn’t win and if that decides the trainer’s championship, it’s a sad circumstance.
There’s never a dull moment in this game.
