A very sunny work morning with both Dandy Lass and Tulane working in preparation for their runs on the flat next week. Dandy Lass is part owned by Barnsy and hopefully she will make her debut at Windsor on Monday in the fillies maiden.
She has always been an attractive filly but has needed to strengthen – hopefully she will show some promise next week. She doesn’t carry a lot of condition which is surprising considering how many carrots she gets but she looks well compared to her part-owner.
Tulane (pictured) was off with an injury last season but will hopefully make a return at Sandown next Thursday. He has certainly strengthened up from last year and has always shown ability.
Iron Horse has a couple of entries next week but will only take them up if we have some rain. He ran a cracker at Chepstow on his last run and looks potentially a decent chaser.
The York meeting starts today with more Classic clues coming up this week. The Epsom Classics are not far away now and then it will soon be Royal Ascot.
It is a lovely time of year for most horses and if they don’t look well in the first week of June, there is something amiss. With the weather warming up and the grass growing, it is a good time to be a racehorse for most.
Talking of Royal Ascot, once again the Adlestrop Club will have Ladies Day at Royal Adlestrop on Thursday 20th June. It is always a very enjoyable occasion with food, drink and singing along with raising money for charity. This year’s theme is ‘animals’ with all attendees hopefully wearing something from a charity shop with an animal connection.
If you would like to come along to this fun event, please do be in touch.
