An enjoyable work morning on Saturday with visitors including Brian Duckett, Vince O’Brien and John Rosbotham.  We have made entry for the weekend and hopefully we will have a bit of rain for next week when we hope to have a few more runners.

A fantastic weekend of sport and congratulations to Sean Quinlan on winning the Scottish Grand National.  Sean came over from Ireland to join us as young conditional jockey and rode us a few winners.  We have always followed his career closely and are justly proud of his fine season.  May he go on to more success in the future.

Another great sporting achievement with Tiger Woods winning the Masters yesterday.  One of the great sporting comebacks if not the best – but do not forget Lester Piggott’s brilliant win the Breeders Cup.

Great news that this year’s Adlestrop Fun Dog Show at our village open day on Sunday 9th June, will be judged by Christopher Biggins.

He follows in the footsteps of many other great celebs including Jilly Cooper, Robert Hardy, Alexander Armstrong, Sybil Ruscoe and Eleanor Tomlinson.

The late Robert Hardy came dressed as Siegfried Farnon he played a big part in my childhood and I’m hoping this year Mr Biggins will turn up dressed in the greatest part he ever played – Lukewarm in Porridge.
