As Iron Horse didn’t get a run at Southwell due to his ballot mark, we have no runners this week but have quite a few pencilled in for a couple of weeks time.  Hoping the ground conditions will be favourable.

Thanks to the overnight rain, we were able to school this morning.  Spring has definitely been put on hold which has delayed the summer coats coming through but the string are still fit and well.

With the news that Brendan Powell has been forced to give up training thanks to financial pressures, it emphasises what a tough job this game is.  Thanks to Brendan I bought Noble Lord who gave us much fun and won on the tv at Aintree for us before coming second in a Scottish National.

I’ts nearly forty years since I first met Brendan who was at in the greyhound pub in Letcombe Regis with a Horses in Training book next to the pub phone.  He would ring up for any ride and has done it the hard way.  I am sure he will find a useful role within the industry.
