Totterdown found the drying ground not in his favour at Ludlow yesterday and it’s time for him to have a well-deserved holiday.  He’s run some smashing races this season and hopefully will make a nice chaser for next season with some cut in the ground.

We have decided to swerve Market Rasen tomorrow with Master Vintage and he is entered up at the weekend and also has an option next week.  He appears in good form and will hopefully enjoy a step up in trip over fences to give the Adlestrop Club some further excitement.

Thanks to all who supported last night’s Adlestrop Club evening – a celebration of the life of Peter Walwyn.  We had a great turn out as both Mark Smyly and Alastair Down relayed stories of the great trainer and man.

Mark was Peter’s assistant in the seventies and has written an excellent and witty booked called ‘Basil’ – with a collection of tales about P Walwyn. Many copies were sold last night and if you can get hold of one it is a great read.

A Down was also in sparkling form and as ever, did great justice to our subject. Good luck to all those who bought a ticket in the charity sweep stake with profits going to Carers Trust.  The Adlestrop Club’s racing colours will be in the race card at their charity race day in May.

Our Grand National Preview revealed that Lambourn has a fancy in the Bradstock’s Step Back.  Whilst A Down chose Rathvinden, Tiger Roll and Ballyoptic were A Down’s choices.
