Iron Horse is declared in the 2.50pm at Taunton tomorrow, in the 2 1/2 mile handicap hurdle.  He showed promise at Ludlow last time out with cheek pieces and Tom Bellamy onboard and hopefully the combination will once again put up a good show.

He is carrying a lot of weight but hopefully will have come on for his last run.

Like Ruby Walsh, I chose the wrong one in the Gold Cup but it was a great end to a memorable meeting.

There has been much debate about welfare issues during the week and one thing we have learned is that racing needs to sing from one hymn sheet on the subject.

It was owner John Inverdale’s last day at Radio 5 on Friday.  Without question one of the great broadcasters, he has presented BBC Radio’s Cheltenham coverage for thirty years and next year he looks forward to returning as an excited and fascinated racegoer.
