It’s great that racing is now back on. We have made some entries for next week. The string worked nicely this morning and there is a sense of spring in the air with the sun on their backs, the bulbs are on the rise and Cheltenham is just around the corner.
As is the Grand National with the weights being published yesterday. Worked out last week that Mall Dini has a great chance even though he hasn’t won a chase. It looks as though the trip could suit and he certainly has the class.
I told owner Dave Mason a long time ago that Ballyoptic could win a Grand National and Pricewise has tipped him at 33-1 this morning. Very much looking forward to the race and delighted to have an invitation from the Chairman of Aintree to attend.
There has been much in the press about the death of Gordon Banks. A great goal keeper and an iconic figure thanks to his remarkable 1970s save from Pele. I saw the great man at Uttoxeter last year where as ever, he gave a self effacing interview and was one of soccer’s gentlemen.
