Awaiting some bad weather in Adlestrop which as yet has not arrived.  Hopefully it won’t disrupt us too much when it comes to exercising the horses.

It was good to welcome Carol and Paul Mainstone and Dave Mason to the gallops this morning.   We have a couple of entries which are weather dependant on Thursday at Wincanton and a few planned for the week after.

Congratulations to Barry Geraghty for going passed Richard Dunwoody becoming the fourth most winning jump jockey of all time.  Apparently Dunwoody gave Barry a bit of stick on tv a few years ago when saying he was quite loose in a finish.  I’m sure Barry would be the first to admit that compared to Dunwoody he did.

I saw a re-run of Charter Party’s Gold Cup on the Racing Post site yesterday.  Although Dunwoody would make a lousy game show host, there are fewer technically better riders and to watch he and Simon Sherwood ride around Cheltenham in that race was a master class and all young riders should try and copy their style.

Festival Pricewise goes through the Arkle Trophy today.  I still believe Kalashnikov can win and at 7-1, he still looks value.  He may have been a bit under the weather at Kempton and although he will get further, many a stayer have won the Arkle.
