A busy morning at Adlestrop and it was great to welcome Adlestrop Club members, Anne and Peter Hepworth and Jane and Ray Bailey to watch a few lots.

Much of the string were cantering in preparation for tomorrow’s work morning.

Juan Horsepower looked to be outpaced early on yesterday at Southwell before staying on up the straight.  He has his own ideas about the game but hopefully we will find him in the right mood at some point.

Pricewise has been making his selections this week for the big races at the Cheltenham Festival.  As ever, his choices make a lot of sense but I think for what it’s worth Melon in the Champion Hurdle could be each way value at 10-1 having nearly won the race last year.  Whilst Brain Power ran well in the Champion Hurdle in 2017 considering he pulled so hard, perhaps now more settled he is good enough to finish in the first three at 16-1.

As for the Stayers Hurdle, rather like Nichols Canyon – I think Faugheen has been looking for a step up in trip for some time and although stiff after his recent tumble in Ireland, I think 12-1 looks value.

The Gold Cup is an open looking affair this year and I think Thistlecrack at 14-1, Bellshill at 20’s and Elegant Escape at 33’s look like the value, with the later being a typical type to stay on into a place should there be cut in the ground.
