Stoney Cross unfortunately came down at the second last today in the novice hurdle at Ludlow.  She had jumped reasonably until then but she unfortunately just stepped at the hurdle but appears fine.

Conditions did not suit her ideally and she was running well enough considering.  Hopefully we can get her out again soon and I am sure she will improve with racing and stepping up in trip.

Jamie Bargary took over from Danny Hiskett as unfortunately Danny was kicked by a horse last night.  Nothing is broken and hopefully he will not be off for too long.

Ludlow was certainly in the Christmas spirit and it was good to catch up with a fair few owners present.  The stand is very much of the old variety but it has an ageless feel to it and long may it continue to have such a good following with excellent prize money.

Today’s lunch in the owners and trainers was very acceptable and well done to all concerned.  I saw clerk of the course Simon Sherwood, who has done a great job since taking over from Bob Davies.  Simon as you will know, was an excellent jockey whose style should definitely be copied by any potential young rider.

He is a fellow Tottenham fan and is fearful that our manager will be off to Man Utd in the summer.  I didn’t do anything to quell his fears.
