Iron Horse once again didn’t jump with any real fluency at Hereford on Saturday.  He jumps far better at home and we may need to build up his confidence and motivation over obstacles to get the best out of him.

He tends to take the safe option but I am sure he will get better with experience.  He certainly looks the part and I am sure he will be winning for us once we ‘iron’ out his problems.

We have made entries for the flat at Lingfield on Saturday and hopefully will have runners after Christmas.

It is very much that time of year and it was great to attend Ted and Gaynor Voute’s drinks party yesterday.  No couple is more hospitable and it was wonderful to see so many friends in attendance.

The candlelit carol service at Adlestrop is always a magnificent spectacle.  The church looked in fine fettle last night as many of the village sang to the roof tops.  If you have not visited the church it is well worth it if you have time.

Thanks to the generosity of Adlestrop owners, pew cushions are very comfortable and have the names of our winning steeds on the back of them.

BBC Sports Personality of the Year gets more and more politically correct.  However there was a worthy winner but as ever, racing hardly had a look in due to the fact the BBC have given up the sport.  Thankfully the Radio 5 coverage with John Inverdale gives the evening some much needed earthiness.
