Beautiful going on the schooling ground this morning as we schooled more novices over hurdles.

Not many runners for next week but hopefully looking forward to running Totterdown at Sandown on the 8th in a valuable listed handicap.  He has gone up ten pounds so it will be a stiff task but he appears in good form.

I attended yesterday’s National Trainers Federation area meeting after racing at Warwick.  It was a very enjoyable and constructive meeting.

Good to see Alan King there, who is not in our region but thought our meetings were far more fun than those in his area.

It was good to hear the views of Henry Daly, Steve Williams and Charlie Longsdon. Amongst the issues discussed were horse welfare and it is important that jumps trainers get their message across.  A national hunt horse has the best of everything and the more the public know that, the better.
