A morning of schooling over hurdles and some stalls work for the string. Danny Hiskett and Archie Bellamy did a good job at getting some of the novices jumping well.
Muthabir ran with great credit at Kempton yesterday. They went a good old lick throughout and although moving on the heels of the leaders turning in, he stayed on at one pace up the straight. I am sure if the handicapper drops him a few pounds he will be competiitve again for us. Also a step up in trip could suit.
Big Fiddle has been declared for the mares bumper at Wetherby tomorrow with Aiden Coleman onboard. She showed promise on her debut at Ludlow and was not beaten far by the winner. She has been working nicely at home and is from an excellent family and hopefully the ground won’t go too soft.
We won with her half sister Ifits A Fiddle on the track in a bumper and hopefully the galloping course will suit her.
It was great to attend the opening of the education hub and indoor school facility at North Farm Stud this afternoon. As a Trustee of Heros, I was delighted to help explain the great work that goes on there in front of a hundred valued guests.
It was fantastic to see so many of the great and good of racing there, to support the venture.
Thanks to the education hub, many people come from different backgrounds to learn how to ride horses and work in a stable environment, hopefully leading to a long term job in the industry.
Well done to Grace Muir and all at Heros for doing such a fantastic job.
