Organdi floundered in the ground at Southwell yesterday. There had been a fair amount of rain during the afternoon and by the last race it was certainly on the soft side.
Having run on a firmer surface on her debut, like many offspring of Early March – she definitely appears to prefer a sounder surface.
Hopefully she can now go hurdling and we can pick our ground on track that may suit. She has always worked nicely and I am sure on the right ground and trip, she will be winning races for us.
A busy work morning and great that Dr George Wilson was able to join us. George is from John Moores University in Liverpool and has helped us with using heart monitors and other techniques involve equine exercise physiology.
Last night he gave a talk at Cheltenham racecourse organised by Racing Welfare, for local racing yards on optimum nutrition for weight management and health. Delighted that many of our staff attended and really gained from the experience.
It was big shame more local yards did not support the evening as Racing Welfare do a great job supporting those in the industry.
Looking forward to our Adlestrop Club Call My Wine Bluff on Friday night. There are still places available if you fancy joining us.
