Off to Wolverhampton for the 8pm.  Not my favourite journey but hopefully Lady Of Authority will prefer this track to the others she has been running on.

Worked our two-year-olds this morning and schooled some others.  The two-year-olds are coming along nicely and we are aiming to run them on the all-weather before the end of the year.  A plan that didn’t do Enable any harm.

A great deal of exciting flat racing is due to take place at Ascot on Saturday.  Once again the ground doesn’t look as if it will be conducive to most  thoroughbreds with the recent rain.  However hopefully Cracksman should go out on a high as he should love the conditions.

Also hoping Happily can finally score for me in my horses to follow competition.  Nosed out of it by Laurens at Newmarket, hopefully the ground will suit.

Today’s horse profiles for your five to follow are:

Over Stated won a point to point in Ireland before we purchased him last spring.  He pleased us on his debut for us before disappointing at Southwell, after which he incurred a schooling injury.  Hopefully the time off will have done him some good and he is potentially a decent chaser in the making although he will start off over hurdles.

Present From Dubai was second in two novices for us last season at Doncaster and Uttoxeter.  Previously he had shown decent point to point form and he looks a horse of promise.  He has a workable handicap mark so may well run in a handicap hurdle over two miles before stepping up in trip.  Long-term he is a smart chaser and looks sure to give his enthusiastic owners some fun this season.

Roundhead has been purchased to go juvenile hurdling, having won his last two flat races.  His last success was over a mile and a half and it looked as though the step up in trip brought about much improvement.  He has taken well to jumping and has been recently gelded.   He looks a decent prospect and has the size and scope to jump fences in the future.
