A great victory yesterday for Totterdown at Huntingdon. He behaved far better on this occasion in the preliminaries and despite taking a grip throughout, he had the race won before the home straight and certainly has an engine.
Hopefully we can find another novice to run him in before the end of October, after which he loses his novice tag. Danny Hiskett rides him out most mornings and it was good to see him rewarded for his effort and patience.
As for the Fairford Goes Racing syndicate, he is part of their family and having bred him and brought him up, it was a very satisfying performance for everyone.
Hopefully there is more to come. He has enjoyed time in the paddock today (pictured)
Arctic Chief appears to want even further following his step up in trip yesterday. Moving into third turning for home, he stayed on at one pace after the second last and we will now try him over three miles.
Beautiful People has been declared in the 1.40pm at Fontwell tomorrow with Richard Johnson onboard. They were impressive winners at Southwell and a return to a longer trip will suit. Hopefully the rain will keep away until after her race as she certainly prefers a sound surface.
Having gone up in the handicap for her Southwell win, life will be tougher in handicap company but she appears in good form and hopefully will run a decent race.
It was good to welcome the Odd Fellows Society to Adlestrop today. Organised by our great friend Alan Porton, it was an enjoyable visit as we showed the group the horses at exercise, our beautiful village accompanied by refreshments and custard creams.
A sandwich at the Horse & Groom in Oddington followed and we look forward to welcoming them back to the yard in the future.
