Extremely frustrating last night that Western Storm got pipped on the line.  Travelling well in behind the leader until turning for home, he went some lengths clear approaching the second last only to be collared late one.  The tongue strap appears to have worked and let’s hope he can finally make up for lost time as he is a horse that has always shown ability.

Lady Of Authority is declared in the 6.45pm at Chelmsford tomorrow.  She has had some niggly problems and didn’t appear to be suited by Windsor on her last run.  Hopefully she will be back to form now back on the all-weather surface.

I watched last night’s race at Ted and Gaynor Voute’s – where we had our annual dinner with bloodstock supremo Martin Mitchell.  ‘Mitch’ ran Tattersalls for many decades and it’s now around thirty years since our first annual dinner in the Voute household.
